Why did you join Crossfit Bosham?
I personally joined after talking to Derek and seeing his passion for it and his passion to to help others achieve their goals. I also wanted something that would challenge me more than going to a normal gym.
What did you want to achieve when you joined?
I chose to join CrossFit Bosham because I wanted to get stronger, fitter and more flexible. I also wanted to push myself to see what I can achieve physically and meet my goals.
What does CrossFit do for you?
For me, CrossFit gives me something to thrive for and somewhere where I can really push myself, in a safe and encouraging environment. It makes me feel good after I've trained and lifts my mood on days where I am maybe feeling a bit low.
What is best thing about CrossFit?
I love that I can set goals and achieve PB's and have fun while doing it.
It makes me feel stronger, fitter and healthier whilst learning a new skill set with Olympic Weightlifting and challenging workouts.
What's the worst thing about CrossFit?
Honestly can't think of any bad things about CrossFit. Personally i struggle with the Gymnastic side of some tasks but I see it as a personal challenge and something to aim for.
What would you like to achieve in the gym a year from now?
I will be aiming to improve on the disciplines that I find tougher, like handstands or pull ups and also want to achieve more PB’s, especially with heavy lifts.
I also want to learn more from Derek and maybe even do some coaching training myself at some point.
Have there been any surprising outcomes of CrossFit?
Going back a few years I never thought i would even try CrossFit and now I love it. I've achieved weight loss and definitely got stronger in a very short space of time. I've surprised myself that i could get fitter, even as i get older.
What would you say to anyone else considering starting CrossFit?
Just give it a go....simple as that!
It has something for everyone what ever your age , ability , agility, fitness , strength....
You can set your own goals and with Derek's coaching and your own right mindset it's amazing what you can achieve.
I love the vibe in the gym and the encouragement and push we all give each other.
